The PlayStation 4 (PS4) is a gameconsole made by Sony Interactive Entertainment that has been available in Europe since November 29, 2013. The successor to the PlayStation 3 and predecessor to the PlayStation 5 was announced on February 20, 2013 in New York during a press conference, which was entirely dedicated to the new console. Sony is abandoning the Cell architecture, instead opting for the x86 architecture. The reason for this choice is that this makes it much easier for developers to create games. This allows a larger group of developers to take the step to develop PS4 games, both small and large companies.
