The Nintendo 3DS (N3DS or 3DS) is a handheld produced by Nintendo and is the official successor to the Nintendo DS. The Nintendo 3DS was officially introduced to the general public during E3 2010 in Los Angeles. The 3DS succeeds the Nintendo DS, has backwards compatibility with DS and DSi games and competes with the Playstation Vita. The Nintendo 3DS handles 3D effects without the use of special glasses. It can play certain 3D movies and can take 3D photos and 3D videos with the two front cameras (three cameras in total, also one above the top screen).
