The Atari Lynx is the first portable color game console, launched by Atari in 1989. The Lynx offered many options, including a multi-player option, where multiple Lynxes were connected to each other with a Comlynx cable. The Lynx also had a 3D graphics chip and a backlit color screen. The Lynx had a number of nice games available, many of which were inspired by arcade games. The Lynx was unsuccessful because Atari wasn't able to attract many developers to make games for them.
